Turkey Burgers!

Kalvin and I like to make these turkey burgers, the cranberries make them really flavorful but not to the point where you know there is cranberries in them. The original recipe called for seasoned bread crumbs, I just make my own.

Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs- or about 2 sliced of bread toasted and "crumbed"
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • 1/4 parsley
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (craisins), chopped
  • 3 tablespoons crumbled feta cheese- do not skimp!! I usually add the whole small container of feta in.
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the egg, bread crumbs, spices, cranberries and feta cheese. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into patties ( usually get about 6 or 7 good sized patties). (If there is time between when you make the patties and grilling  put the patties in the freezer, they will hold their shape better when you throw them on the grill).
  • If grilling the burgers, coat grill rack with cooking spray before starting the grill. Grill. Serve on buns. Yield: 4 -6 servings.

Chopped Craisins. No one wants a big dried cranberry in their burger.

Ground Turkey

All the stuff mixed in.

Patties.
